Our hope is that you walk away from playing “Dig! Shovel! Go!” with a new humorous perspective about the lengths we as humans have gone to destroy our home. We have hyper-exaggerated the actions of one alien to represent the actions of many humans and corporations. Sometimes difficult topics are hard to engage with and discourage actual action or critical thinking, so we wanted to make the game lighthearted and satisfying to clash with the heavy topic.

Dig Shovel Go! is a teen made video game made by 7 teens at Spy Hop over a 5 month period.  Spy Hop (Spyhop.org) is a youth media organization in Salt Lake City, Utah and Power Up is an intensive game development class at Spy Hop.  The first 5 months of Power Up the teens built many games and discussed game development, rapid prototype style.  As a group the teens made one final demo from the ideas that the teens proposed.  Dig Shovel Go is the final product of these teens' combined work.
